Welcome
From the Smithfield Brock United Methodist Church Sowing the Word in Fulton County since 1835.
``Naked I came from my mother`s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.`` In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Job 1: 21
Greetings! What a beautiful Fall day this is! The sun is shining, the air is crisp and cool, the leaves are turning beautiful colors, and crops are being harvested. It doesn`t get much better than this! Recently I asked someone, ``And, how are you today?`` They replied, ``I`m blessed, so very blessed. And how are you?`` I replied, ``I, too, as blessed, so richly blessed!`` I went on to explain that sometimes I have to shake my head and just stand in wonder at how God much God has blessed me. Do you ever feel that way? I pray you do for we are all richly blessed. Is life perfect for me? Not at all! If I thought about it I could come up with a list of trials in my life that far surpasses my blessing list-but I don`t want to do that. I don`t want to miss out on any opportunity to just praise God!
As we enter the fall season it is a good time to take an inventory of where we are in our lives: personally, physically, spiritually, financially. Can you praise God because of or in spite of where you are? Are there practices you need to cultivate (Bible study, prayer, worship) to ensure you enter each day with an attitude of praise? Each new day is so different from the one before and it`s all good. God made it that way. Just as the seasons change, just as we change every day, so we need to embrace life and the opportunities to praise God. Job praised God in the midst of great personal tragedy. I`m in awe of Job`s devotion to our God. How much more we have to praise God for! He sent His son to die for my sins and yours-praise to God our Father!!
See you in church.
