Basic Course Training (All are welcome)

August 8-10, 2008 The Basic Course will be
presented at the 25th Annual Academy for Laity and taught by Rev. J. Dennis
Williams and Judy Ehninger. Additionally, a Basic Course for those 17 to 25
will be taught by Georgette Hall-Peterson. (3 separate downloads in PDF are

Fall 2008
– A Basic
Course led by Judy Ehninger will be Hopewell UMC in Downingtown and will be
limited to the first 20 registrations. (Dates to be announced. For more
information contact Judy Ehninger.)
Advanced Training
(All are welcome)

August 8-10, 2008 The 25th Annual Academy
for Laity will be held at the Sheraton Park Ridge Hotel in King of
Prussia. The following courses are currently being planned: “Discovering
Your Spiritual Gifts” to be taught by Ruth Harmon; the instructor for a
course on “Expanding the Kingdom” will be Rev. Drena Miller; Rev. Anita
Powell will present a course on Caring; Rev. Dr. Al Maloney will teach
“The Spirit of UM Leadership Moving into the 21st Century” and Barbara
Drake is scheduled to be the instructor for “Creating Healthy
Congregations Through Health Ministries”. (3 separate downloads in PDF

Fall 2008
– Christ
Servant Ministers Preach, Pt. 1 - Introductory Course will be led by
Rev. J. Dennis Williams at Simpson house. Registrations will be limited
to the first 20 registrants. (Exact dates will be available from George
Hollich after June 15, 2008.)

November 14–15,
2008
– An advanced speaking course entitled “You Want to Speak (but not from
the pulpit)?” will be offered at Camp Innabah. (Registration accepted
after June 1, 2008.)
Special Opportunities

Making
Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World
– Transformational Spiritual Leadership
– Christ Servant Ministers involved in these training opportunities may
request CSM Leadership credit after they have attended a minimum of 6
sessions.

– Christ Servant Ministers who complete the training may request CSM credit.
