What's New for Visitors
What will happen if I visit?
We leave that choice to you.  The pastor and other members will gladly and wholeheartedly welcome you to become a part of our church family, but we realize each individual is seeking a personal environment in which to grow and be nurtured in God's grace.  We hope you found it here.  If not, go with Christ and serve him wherever the Holy Spirit leads you.  We still love you.
What should I wear to church?
Like Jesus, we don't get hung up over what people wear (so long as it is decent).  Most members wear semi-formal attire.  This usually means a tie for men, but not necessarily.  Dresses or slacks are appropriate for the women.  A few men wear full suits.  The rule is: Come as you are!
What will I be expected to do during worship?
You may participate as fully or as little as you like.  We will not single you out during the service; instead there will be a general greeting to all visitors.  As Methodists, we follow a pre-planned bulletin of worship activities, although the pastor may modify certain items during the service.  There are times that we stand (standing is optional).  There are times we pray.  There are times we sing.  Afterwards, the pastor will be in the back of the church to shake hands and greet you as you leave.  If you wish to have a follow-up visit, please let him know.  Check out our weekly bulletin on the website.
Do you ask for money?
Giving of our tithes, gifts, and offerings is a part of every service.  You are never compelled to give - your gift is between you and God.  We do promise to be good stewards with whatever offering you entrust us with.  The ultimate use of all money to "make disciples of Jesus Christ."
What about the children?
We love children!  Brother Glenn does not mind talking over little voices.  Children are the future of our church!   Jesus Himself welcomed the little children to come to Him and we will do no less.  We do offer a Children's Church where little ones can learn and have fun, if you desire to send them.   Even then, the children are brought back into the sanctuary during the worship hour to participate in the Children's Moment.
How do I join?
All who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are welcome in the Body of Christ.  (If you are not sure you are saved - click here.)  Express your desire to become a member to Brother Glenn.  He will visit with you and determine the proper means (letter, confession, etc.) by which you can join this congregation.  New members then stand before their congregation and participate in a short service led by the pastor.  New and old members together vow to serve God and this congregation with their prayers, presence, gifts, and service.  If you have never been baptized, you will also receive the sacrament of baptism during a special service dedicated for that purpose.  Since baptism with water is symbolic of an inward change of heart, all modes of baptism (sprinkle, pour, immersion) are considered acceptable - the choice is up to the new member.  Once a member, you become eligible to serve in various leadership roles, based on your evident spiritual gifts.
