Welcome
Crestview United Methodist Church believes in building bridges in our community.
When Jesus talked about loving our neighbors, he wasn't speaking abstractly but calling us to practical action to care for those around us! We build bridges through:
Wooten Circle of Friends. Members serve as tutors, provide teacher support and help with special projects like the Book Fair, Reading is FUNdamental and Career Day. Others volunteer in middle or high schools in the city.
The Rachel Project, which makes "comfort bags" for children who are being transported by the police, usually to CPS. The cloth bags are sewn by the team and filled with a blanket, stuffed animal, coloring book, and so forth. 360 bags have been distributed.
Meals for those with HIV/AIDS in transitional housing or hospice care.
Annual Blessing of the Animals to benefit Austin Pets Alive!
Anyone in the community is welcome to join in these projects--and more!
Rev. Linda Elford, Pastor
Children are welcome in worship! Activity bags are available in the back of the sanctuary. A nursery is also available for children through age 4.
