Welcome to the CFUMC Website Info Page. I have created this page because I get questions about the site, "How did you do that?", or, "What program did you use?" type of questions.
First I'd like to say this is a labor of love. I am happy to use my talents that God gave me to help the church and give the people a voice on the internet. The church has much to offer everyone who seeks to know Gods love, this is just a gateway to see just a small portion of what the Crestline First United Methodist Church is all about.
So, let's get down to business! Here is a list of some of the applications I use and my thoughts behind each program with a link to for more information.
Adobe GoLive CS2: this is a great application to create webpages. It's ease of use and integration with other Adobe applications makes this HTML Editor my first choice. Product homepage
Adobe Illustrator CS2: An industry standard for vector based graphics, Illustrator is the perfect choice for creating logos, banners, buttons, sliced graphics, and artwork. Product homepage
Adobe PhotoShop CS2: Photoshop is another industry standard that has changed the face of the internet and advertising on a global scale. Perfect for manipulating photos and graphics for print or on the web.
Adobe Flash 8: Formally known as Macromedia Flash, Flash creates fantastic web animations and navigation for websites. I currently have a Flash element on our Photo Page. Product homepage
iMovie HD: This is apart of the iLife suite of applications from Apple. I do not currently have movies on our website for the lack of space on our FTP site, provided by Global Ministries. This simple application does a great job at creating movies and DVD's. Product homepage.
Adobe InDesign CS2: When I do projects for print, example a brochure or poster, I will use InDesign for my page layouts. The reason I am mentioning this is because any PDF's generated for the website is created by InDesign. Our downloadable map would be an example. Product hompage
Cyberduck 2.7.1: This is a free FTP application for transferring our website to the internet. I could use GoLive for this but I have multiple FTP sites and it is easier to keep them all under one program. Product hompage
On a more personal note I create a everything on an Apple PowerBook G4, 1.25 GHz PowerPC, 160 Gig HD, with two Gig's of RAM.
If you have any questions about what I use or our website in general. Feel free to e-mail me at CrestlineMethodist@gmail.com
In God's Service,
