Attention Youth of the Church!
We would like your opinions on beginning a new Youth Group.  We would like to know your interests, what you would like to see the group do, and discuss possible trips to take and fund raising ideas.
The official invitation to this informal meeting goes out to:  Darian Dubots, Bobby Brown, Sarah Hutcheson, Alex Hutcheson, Miranda Sickler, Trevor Sickler, Kaylynn Benson, Carlie Watson, Katie Lamb, Jared White, Gage Wright, Andrew Higgins, Maggie Acker, Nate Thompson, Justin Barentine, Haley Brown, Cassie Benson, John Currin, Lauren Goga, Jesse Miller, Morgan Shaffer, Lana Benson and Christopher Wilkinson!
Please bring along anyone you think we may have missed or friends, girl friends, boy friends, your next door neighbor…….  We would like to see this group become strong and develop in fellowship as well as friendship.
Come on over, talk with us!  You can hang out, relax, be yourself and we’ll talk about anything you want to talk about, have a little fellowship, and maybe build some one-on-one relationships.  Some of you may want to talk, get things out you’ve had on your mind, and rest of us will just listen.
We’re planning on having pizza and several choices of pop, maybe other munchies.
Also, if you have any contemporary Christian CD’s bring them along, we’d love to hear them.   You young people are a vital and integral part of our church.  We need you and you need us!  Let’s get this church moving with all the young people in it!  We’ve been asleep way too long!
Everyone will be involved, we will all belong and we will all have value.   There are times when many of you need a shoulder to lean on, or just to get things off your chest.  You can feel free to express yourself.
This first meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 13th at 4:00 PM in the Education Building.  Please join us; let’s see what we can do!

Church News
The trustees have looked at plans for installing a new kitchen into what are presently the secretary and pastors offices.  There was concern that a commercial dishwasher was not included in the plans.  A regular dishwasher may be nice to have for small functions.  They discussed having overhead cabinets and a tile floor.  Lou Karija could possibly install the floor.  One range and one refrigerator will be moved from the old kitchen, one of each would need to be purchased.  The cost of the project will depend on the choice of materials.  We could possibly do the painting ourselves.  If all presentations are shown and the decisions made, we could start the project by June.  The secretary and pastors offices would move to the Sunday school rooms in the back.  Building an addition may be put on hold; the elementary school is planning on beginning a preschool so it is possible we may not have a preschool in the future.

They discussed carpeting in the parsonage may need to be replaced.  Steve Erway will follow up on this. The phone system in the Education Building needs to be replaced as well.  Gene Neefe said he would talk to John Rotello.  The pine tree in the back of the church needs to come down, Steve will get a bid from Tom Martin.

A new computer has been purchased for use in the church with the projection system.   The laptop has been unreliable.

Letters from Sierra Leone

Rev. A. T. Sheaka, Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District

Dear Sir/Madam,
Appreciations
When I got that money from you people as I was told, I was moved as to whom I was in the eyes of the American missionaries because when I left my station for Bo, with only small money to go back, when my fellow clergy told me that I have money with the Supt. Isaac Green.  I could not believe until I was paid.  The over joy made me sweat straight.  What I thought to buy to surprise my wife that day during that raining season was rice and radio-tape.  We were eating 4 cups of rice; seven of us in the house but now from that time as I talk to you, we now eat 6 cups of rice daily.
Our life ave improved because they do not drive some of my children from school.  Instead of them going to their fellow children for their toy and music; they come to them now in the parsonage.  Praise the Lord.  This has restored my respect in the community.  And some of my church members visit me and work for me in the village community where we all stay and have our being.
Thank you very much for your kindness and love to us in this nation, Sierra Leone.  I hope you will only continue until we are able to stand on our own.  I assure you to put this money into good use because I know how long I have suffered before or after the war.  Thank you and God bless you.

His obedient Servant – Rev. A. T. Sheaka

On behalf of the entire membership of the United Methodist Church Campbell Town, and on my behalf, I wish to express my sincere thanks to the Lordship the Bishop Rev. Dr. J. C. Humper, cabinet, UMC Conference, and our overseas Christian friends for the conducive stipend I receive quarterly.
