Boy Scout Troop 533 - Tired of Turkey Spaghetti
Dinner
Boy Scout Troop 533's Annual Tired of Turkey
Spaghetti Dinner will be held Sunday, November 29, 2009 here at the
church. Serving will begin following the 10:10 AM church service until
2:00 PM. Adults: $5.00 Children: $3.00.
Community Thanksgiving Service - Tonight
The Westland Area Ministerial Association has planned
a community Thanksgiving Service this evening, November 22, at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, 55 Pasadena Avenue. The service will begin at
6:00 p.m.. Choir members from Westside community churches will
participate in the service including members of the CHUMC Chancel Choir.
TeleCare To Call Congregation
Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 1, our
TeleCare Ministry Team will be phoning the entire congregation to inform
you of all of our church activities for the Advent and Christmas season.
Please look forward to their calls and welcome them warmly.
Chancel Choir Cantata - Sunday, December 13 - 10:10
a.m.
Our Chancel Choir under the direction of Jack Zellner
will perform their Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 13, at the
10:10 a.m. worship service. An ensemble of the choir will sign portions
of the cantata at the 9:00 a.m. service. Please join us in worship as we
continue our Advent journey.
Outreach Adopt-a-Family Project
Our Outreach Ministry Team has adopted two families
to help for the holidays. Information will be listed in future Sunday
bulletins on how you can assist Outreach with this project. We will also
have a special Christmas tree in the church concourse with tags
containing gift ideas. You will simply select a tag, purchase the item
listed, and bring it into the church office before December 20th.
Through your generosity, we can share our blessings with others.
2010 Flower Calendar
The new flower calendar for 2010 is now posted in the
Welcome Center. Please sign up early to get the Sunday you want before
someone else takes it. Flower arrangements for the altar are $25.00.
Special Note
Fellowship Hall will be closed the week of November
23-27 for carpet cleaning. No one will be permitted in Fellowship Hall.
United Methodist Women - General Meeting
Saturday, December 5, our United Methodist women will
hold their December meeting. The business meeting will begin at 11:00
a.m., followed by a program and pot luck lunch. Please bring a friend
and a dish to share with your friends. All are welcome.
Military Personnel Information
To keep in contact with our men and women serving in
the military, we would like our church family to submit the names their
names and addresses. Forms can be found at the Welcome Center and in the
church office for you to complete with address information. We would
like to have a new form completed whenever there is an address
change.
Packages For Our Servicemen and Women
Our United Methodist Men thank you for all of the
items you have donated for our military personnel in Iraq and
Afghanistan Please continue to bring in items and place them in the bin
by the Welcome Center. To help continue their efforts, our men could use
monetary donations to help with the postage costs. If you would like to
help, please see Jerry Long. All of your donations are greatly
appreciated.
