Building Use Guidelines for Weddings, Funerals and Special Events

The members of the Collister United Methodist Church openly invite groups who desire a Christian environment to meet at our facility. The sanctuary can seat 125 and is handicap accessible. The fellowship hall is located in the basement and contains a partially outfitted kitchen. Individuals who are considering our church need to be aware of the following:
  1. We are a charitable, non-profit religious organization and are not offering our church for general public use, but as a place where families might find, and appreciate, a religious setting. The following fees are suggested so that we might adequately provide for you, and other users, a clean facility in good repair, properly heated or air-conditioned. These fees should be considered a donation to the continuing ministry of this church.

    1. $200 per event. This donation would guarantee your sole use of both the sanctuary and fellowship hall for the entire day.
    2. $100 cleaning deposit. This deposit would be refunded after the event if the church, fellowship hall and grounds are left in a clean condition, ready for others to use the next day.
    3. $100 Pastor's fee. This donation would only be collected in cases where the pastor would be needed for the event, such as a wedding or funeral. This includes any counseling time, rehearsals and the event itself. The Methodist Church does have specific requirements pertaining to these types of events. You need to review your specific needs and plans with the pastor to ensure we are able to support your function.

  2. A specific date may be reserved in advance with a non-refundable deposit of $50 to the church. This donation guarantees that no other events will bride and maids take priority over your use of the church on the desired day. One exception will be Sundays, where the church will always be reserved for regular religious services until 1:00 PM in the afternoon. Special events may be scheduled after 1:00 PM on Sundays.

  3. The $50 non-refundable deposit will be considered a partial payment of the $200 event donation. All fees and cleaning deposits should be paid in full one month before the date of the event, if possible, to ensure the date remains reserved for your event. The donation to the pastor may be given closer to the event day, please make arrangements directly with the pastor.taking vows

  4. You must make your own private arrangements for musicians, soloists, flowers, any special catering of foods or other supplies you will need to meet your event requirements.

  5. If another pastor is to preside over the event, they must contact the Collister Church pastor to ensure that all is in order for a dignified Christian event.

  6. The United Methodist Church has a long-standing tradition against the use of alcoholic beverages on church premises. We ask all guests to honor our tradition.

  7. The Boise City Fire Marshall prohibits smoking within the church at any time.

  8. We reserve the right to decline any requested date / function.

  9. Our wish for you is that your special family event be just that - special!
