UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship)
An active ministry group for youth in grades 6 – 12
consisting of opportunities for fellowship, worship, study, music, recreation,
and outreach. The Cole Memorial UMYF
meets during the school year on Sunday evenings from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the
youth ministry area located adjacent to Eargle Hall in the basement of the
sanctuary building. Sunday evening
programs include music, bible study, activities/games, and a snack supper. In addition to Sunday evening programs, the
UMYF are actively involved in service projects within our church and outreach
projects in our community throughout the year.
Recent service projects have included the delivery of valentines to our
shut-ins; Youth Sunday worship service on May 4; assistance with the Easter
Eggstravaganza on April 12; Mothers Day and Fathers Day bulletins; providing
music for worship at Charlotte Rescue Mission; and participation in World
Vision’s 30-Hour Famine. The youth are looking forward to their annual trip to
Chrysalis (A spiritual growth retreat experience for youth)
