Salvation Army Homeless Women Emergency Shelter
For the week of October 12-19, we will assist the Salvation Army effort to provide shelter for homeless women. Their emergency overflow shelter closed September 1st and they asked community churches to help meet the need. We will host 12 single women every night for all 7 nights, Oct 11-19. We provide transportation to and from the Salvation Army Center of Hope, dinner, breakfast, snacks, toiletries, fellowship and socializing, and sleeping in a warm, safe, Christian environment.
Don’t toss your expired coupons—bring them to the basket in the Narthex. We will send them to commissaries on U.S. military bases who allow their families to use coupons up to six months past their expiration dates. So, when cleaning our your coupons, sort out those that have expired and drop them in the basket. And to be extra nice, include a note of support for our troops.
Easter Eggstravaganza!
Our family at Cole hosts an annual Egg Hunt and Spring Carnival for our community. We celebrate that Jesus Lives! There are lots of candy, games, eggs cupcakes and neighbors. Church members also donate lots of goodies for the Cake Walk. The profits made from this year’s Cake Walk were donated OMS International and their work in Haiti. The funds were earmarked for radio missions, childcare and medical missions. Our celebration was April 12th and the weather was great! Everyone was reminded that we are truly an “Easter People”.
VBS
2009

Welcome to Studio GO! Game Show, where the kids experienced real service, real teamwork and real FUN! Our game show set offered great meals, a wacky Host and lots of prizes!
June 25th, 26th, & 27th the children participated in the excitement of Studio GO!, experienced God’s Word at Primetime Bible Challenge, met real life servants at Service Showcase, plus created fun –filled crafts and played challenging games. And, through it all, we hope they came to understand that with Jesus everyone wins! During this VBS retreat the kids were encouraged and motivated to go out and serve others. Joshua 1:9 was their reminder that God is with them no matter how or where they choose to serve!
