Abingdon Charge of the United Methodist Church
Connections

A "charge" of the United Methodist Church is two or more churches served by a single pastor or pastoral team. Abingdon Charge comprises the two churches, Calvary and Cokesbury Memorial United Methodist Churches. The charge is served by Pastor Janet L. Brewer.

Calvary and Cokesbury Memorial United Methodist Churches are a part of the Baltimore-Washington Annual Conference (http://www.bwcumc.org) which comprises about 700 churches in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and part of West Virginia. Bishop John R. Schol presides over the Conference. For more information about the organization of the United Methodist Church, see www.umc.org/abouttheumc/organization

The Baltimore-Washington Conference is organized into eight Districts (see http://bwcumc.org/realignment). We belong to the Baltimore-Suburban District, which comprises 103 churches in Baltimore County and Harford County, Maryland. The District Superintendent is Rev. Karin Walker. Together with the Baltimore Metropolitan District, we make up the Baltimore Region.

The Baltimore-Suburban District is loosely organized into "Clusters" of four to twelve churches. We belong to the "Abingdon & Edgewood" cluster, which comprises the following churches, all located in the southern part of Harford County, Maryland:
