WE RESPOND TO THE WORD

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Rock of Love, we confess that we put our trust in weapons and might. We confess that

we cannot seem to get past violence-thinking and destruction-thinking. We confess that

we keep beating our plough-shares into  bullets and our pruning hooks into missiles.

And we look with disdain on those who warns us that when we live by the sword, we

will die by the sword, and our world and our children with us. Strike us with the stone

of your forgiveness. Let it sink so deep into us that we fall on our faces in repentance.

Please, before it is too late. Amen.
