Subject: Appointment Review Form
A number of you have noted that you could not download the pastor's appointment review form, so I am sending this again.

This is due in the district office by December 1.  We have simplified the categories, so that there should be no guess work as to hwo we will interpret this.  The middle category means, essentially, that you have no compelling reason to either stay or to change your appointment.

Let me know if there are still difficulties with the download.

Subject: New York Annual Conference Bolivia Mission
The leadership of the New York Annual Conference's Bolivia Mission has designed a Bolivia Mission Alternative Gift Catalog that offers individuals, congregations and other groups the opportunity to make contributions in honor of (or as a memorial to) others.  Donors can select any of a number of programs of this Mission that support children, health services, Christian education and church development.

Contributions received will be used by the Bolivia Mission Coordination Team to acquire/transport goods from the U.S. or forwarded through normal GBGM channels for Advance gifts, with a tithe of the total giving being placed in the GBGM Encounter With Christ in Latin America and the Caribbean Permanent Fund (025100) to support future mission programs in that part of God's World.

  • The dedication of a tithe to the Encounter With Christ fund was originated by the Bolivia Mission in connection with Advance #O11243-7RA , the very successful program that enables indigenous Quechua families in the Andes build houses that protect future generations from the insects that infect most of the people in this extremely poor part of the world with the incurable, debilitating and ultimately fatal parasitic Chagas disease.
  • Substantial support for this program by congregations and individuals in the Conference have, to date has enabled construction of some 115 houses.
  • As you probably are aware, this program has been highlighted in articles in New World Outlook and in a video widely distributed by Bread for the World.  It is one of the programs in the Alternative Gift Catalog.

The attached file contains a description of this catalog and how brochures (in hard copy or digital form) and bulletin inserts can be obtained.  While this is an all-year catalog, we obviously would like to give it wide distribution during the Advent and Christmas seasons, and would appreciate it if you would distribute this information as widely as possible to clergy and laypersons within your Districts.   As always, we welcome your assistance provided to this 24/365 partnership with the people of the Central District of the Evangelical Methodist Church of Bolivia that supports their worship of, and service to, the Lord.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

Paz y gracia,

Bob and Ginny Stevenson
