CHESAPEAKE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
CLASSES FOR ALL AGES The Children's Class
The Children's Sunday School Class has students from grades 1 through 6. A study on the order of the books of the Bible is planned soon to help the children find Bible verses more easily. A number of activities are being worked on.
The Jr. & Sr. High School Sunday School Class are preparing to begin a new confirmation class that will be taught by Rev. Daryl Fourman. The classes will begin on January 13, 2002 and will last for ten weeks. Classes will start at 11:00a.m. and last until 1:00p.m. Lunch will be provided by the youth leaders and parental involvement. If you or someone you know would like to enroll in the class feel free to contact the church for more information.
All of us in the J.O.Y. (Jesus, others & You) Class want to extend an invitation to join us each Sunday morning at 10:50 AM. We begin with a time of fellowship then a prayer and a hymn. The teacher Ernie Damron presents the lesson. Currently the birth, life and ministry of Jesus as told by the disciple Luke is being studied. If you want to feel loved, welcomed and prayed for, then come to the J.O.Y. class Sunday mornings. There are no age limits. The class meets in the Fellowship hall, downstairs.
A new Sunday School Class was started on, March 11, 2001. It was named The S.P.I.R.I.T. Class. We seek Spiritual Prosperity, Inspiring Redemption through Illuminated Teaching. Thus it's name. The class is intended to serve young adults, both married and single. The class vision is to grow and develop spiritually through the teachings of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. The teacher is Clyde Nicely. We are very excited about "The Spirit Class", and encourage the young adults in the church and community to attend the class every Sunday.
The Followers Class is so named because they are "follers" of instructions on being the "body of Christ". The class is now studying (the book of Acts) in a leader/discussion type class. The class is now learning how God formed the New Testament church in the book of Acts. The class is opened and closed in prayer and look to the Lord for guidance. All are welcome.
The Seekers Class is currently studying Faith Lessons on the Life and Ministry of the Messiah. This series was filmed in Israel by Focus on the Family Films. Faith Lessons is a unique video series that brings God's Word to life with astounding relevance. The photography is excellent, and the lessons are very meaningful.
