ADULT MINISTRIES

Body Recall:  This group meets in the multipurpose room at 9:00 am for an hour every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.   Health and fitness cannot be bought.  They must be earned!  Health and fitness cannot be stored.  They are by-products of continuous lifestyle choices.  CHOOSE BODY RECALL!  Body Recall exercises are possible for people in all conditions and at any age.  It is a program of slow stretching movements that use the full range of motion in all joints of the body to improve flexibility and gently strengthen muscles.  The side effects that occur through regular exercise are amazing!  You are cordially invited to join the Body Recall group.   Wear comfortable clothes, sensible shoes and socks and join us for fitness, fun and fellowship starting each year in September.  See you there.

Lunch Bunch:  This group meets in the fellowship room at 11:00 am every third Wednesday of the month.  Bring a dish and join us for devotions, fellowship and good food!

Midweek Bible Study (AM):  This class meets in the library on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am.  We are currently studying Great Truths of the Bible--48 Principles of the Christian Faith.

Midweek Bible Study (PM):  This class meets every second and fourth Thursday from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  We are currently studying Invitation to the New Testament which is a short-term DISCIPLE Bible Study.

Sunday School Bible Study:  This class meets in the library on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am.  We are studying the NIV Standard Lesson Commentary for 2007-2008   The spring quarter theme is God, the People, and the Covenant (Chronicles, Nehemiah, Daniel, Haggai, and Luke),  which explores our covenant relationship with God. The lessons will focus on one of God's covenants.  The people are to be faithful to their covenant with the Lord, who in turn faithfully keeps his covenant promises. The summer quarter theme will be Images of Christ (Hebrews, Gospels, James).  The images are word pictures. They record sharply the real person and work of Christ.  Following images from Hebrews and the Gospels, James presents images to help us put hands and feet to our faith.

United Methodist Men (UMM):  This group meets the second Sunday after the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  The Clinton UMM are a fellowship group who seek to know God and Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to seek God's will.  All men are members of the UMM and are welcome at any dinner or event.

Clinton UMM will be celebrating Men's Day on Sunday, October 19, 2008.

United Methodist Women (UMW):  This group meets the second Sunday after the 10:30 a.m. worship service.  The purpose of UMW is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supporting fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The Clinton UMW  is a community of women offering programs promoting spiritual, educational, and personal enrichment.  We meet monthly for Christian fellowship.  Activities throughout the year support global, district, and local missions.  Newcomers are welcome at any meeting.  Clinton UMW was designated a 5-star unit in 2006, 2007, and 2008.  The Clinton UMW met all five mission requirements for this designation:  World Thank Offering; Gift in Memory, Gift to Mission, Special Mission Recognition and Pledge to Mission.

Clinton UMW will be celebrating Women's Day on Sunday, November 16, 2008.

The 2008 Cooperative School of Christian Mission, Living the Sacred, sponsored by United Methodist Women and Conference Board on Mission, will be held from July 24-27, 2008.  For more information, see The Spotlight, page 5.
