Clarion Community Choir

 

The Clarion Community Choir welcomes anyone high school age or older who enjoys singing. Music reading ability is not required. Rehearsals are held on alternate Sunday evenings from 6-8 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church, Sixth and Wood Streets, Clarion, PA.

The Choir was founded in 1975 under the direction of Fran Shope, and is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church. Current director is Stu Estes, assistant director is Zach Covington, and accompanist is Mary Brooks.

Activities include the annual Autumn Leaf Festival Concert, Christmas and Spring Concerts. Other activities have included a Sunday night Song Service at Chautauqua Institute, a trip to Clarion, Iowa, to sing at their June Festival in the Park, a two week tour to Germany, Austria, Leichtenstein, Switzerland, and Italy, singing at the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., and other special appearances for concerts in the local area.
