BOARD OF TRUSTEES September 11, 2007 Members present: Dave Tomeo, Jacque Nuss, Wade DeLair, Lee Rupert, Jan Ruslavage and Herm Stange. A quorum was present. Meeting was called to order. Rev. Larson led the opening prayer Minutes were reviewed. Herm made motion to accept the minutes and Lee seconded. The motion carried. There are no new building requests. FINANCIAL: Budget requests are needed for the Finance Committee to prepare the next year's budget. Last year's budget numbers and actual usage were reviewed: Utilities (Church & Parsonage, not rentals) $36,000 Maintenance 10,000 Taxes & Insurance 11,000 Custodial Supplies 1,750 New Equipment 500 (spent $1000) Parsonage Maintenance 4,500 Technology 5,000 Recommendation to the Finance Committee: Utilities $38,700 Maintenance and Repairs 12,000 Taxes & Insurance 19,000 (Includes Church, Parking Lot, Rentals, Wood St. Parsonage.) Custodial Supplies 1,750 New Equipment 500 Parsonage Maintenance 4,500 Technology 5,000 Wade made motion to present the budget proposal to the Finance Committee as developed by the Board of Trustees at the 9/11/2007 meeting. Henn seconded. There was no further discussion. The motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: • Re: the garage door at the parsonage. Rev. Larson reports that the right door is still jamming. Herm will take charge of calling for repair. • Re: the garden and the playground. Judy Fiscus would like to explore some alternatives for the fence. Discussion: We have no report on the gutter issue with Apt. A Howard has started the bulb replacement in the sanctuary. Rev. Larson mentioned that he was here today. No report on the bellows for the organ. Parking Lot Stumps have been removed. The rental property taxes for 2006 were paid by Day Care funds that were available. NEW BUSINESS: Sarah Siegel has expressed a concern regarding overtime. Perhaps an analysis of expectations needs to be done so that this expense can be considered in the new budget. Tom Fisher in regards to the Ida Goble estate. $3700. Jan moved to wave the accounting. Lee seconded. This will need formal approval at the Charge Conference on September 24th. Jan also moved to accept this gift with the Trustees' appreciation. Wade seconded. The motion carried. Topic for discussion at the October meeting will be reviewing rents from the rental properties. We would like to give tenants two months notice for January increases. We will also explore the property management idea for the rentals. Lee moved to adjourn the meeting. Wade seconded.
