He's alive!  How startling it must be, to believe that life is departing a loved one, then to begin to see the signs of life being restored.  Giving up and felling the hopelessness, then, miraculously to see the heart pumping, the pulse rate becoming normal, color returning, eyes beginning to flicker, and hope makes the whole future different.
Surely those who saw that Jesus indeed arose from the dead had found the need to deal with the promise that what Jesus fulfilled, the third day He would arise from the dead.  He who had been crucified for them, dead, buried, was alive.
Does your understanding of resurrection give you a sense of the Glory of Jesus being raised from the dead?  A disastrous week, it would have seemed, but ends of an exciting, exhilarating, Praise the Lord finish!
He's alive!  He is risen!  We serve a risen Savior.  Hallelujah!

Kid's After School completed a most successful Season.  This past Wednesday, they heard about the significance of the Egg at Easter, how the chick burst out of the shell even as Jesus came out of the tomb that Easter Morning.  41 children also colored eggs.  Thanks to Julia Barry, Sarah Hoffman and several others who provided leadership and served made snacks this year.

Viola Morton was the hostess for Lydia Circle on March 7.  Attending were Florence, Barbara, Ina, Mildred, Colleen, Martha, and Nadine Thurman as guest.  Mildred opened the meeting.  Minutes were read by Martha and treasurers report given.  Nadine Thurman gave the program on her trip to Russia and had lots of things to show us from her collection.  Delicious refreshments were served by Viola.  The next meeting will be at the home of Marge Williams.

UMW met at the Church on March 13.  Martha Mason opened with prayer and telling about a missionary from the prayer Calendar.  Reports were given by the Secretary and Treasurer and were approved.  Program was given by Martha with Ina, Barbara & Ida reading and Isabel at the piano.  Hostesses were Dee Dee Daniel and Martha Mason.  Coconut cream and custard pie were served along with snack crackers and candies from the beautifully decorated table.  Those in attendance were Mae Walker, Mary Melson, Oreta Imler, Charlotte Pflum, Isabel Hutcherson, Thelma Bradley, Ina Tils, Martha Mason, Ida Hull, Dee Dee Daniel & Barbara Cragg.

Hope Circle met at the Church on March 14, with Angie as hostess.  Plans were begun for the Women's Banquet on April 19.  Women need to bring a salad.  Baked potatoes and meat will be provided.

On March 16, Carol Hiatt, Colleen Reid, Charlotte Pflum and Barbara Cragg went to the Women of the Bible Retreat at the Lewistown UMC.  Susanna Wesley was portrayed that morning and several women were lifted up in the afternoon.  A trio from Lewistown led the probably 40 women attending in several Choruses and then did some specials for us.  Delicious salad luncheon was served at noon.

The Annual Methodist Men's breakfast was held at the church on March 16.  What a good group of men who know how to "put on" a breakfast!  Cooking, serving, cleaning up, for the very good turnout and one of the most successful breakfasts.  Proceeds will help send our children to Camp Jo-Ota this summer.

Special Services just keep getting better and better.  Palm Sunday was another of a "Most High Event".  So much talent was displayed.  128 were in attendance to hear the Chimes Choir with Christina Schoonover on Trumpet and Adult Choir and Trudy on the Keyboard chipping in.  Palm branches were waving.  Children's Choir directed by Sharri and Jeanna joined with the Adult Choir under Colleen's direction and Angie at the piano.  The Children, with their enthusiasm, even with not much practice, were exciting to see and hear.  Angie's organ and Trudy's piano duet during the offering added to our very special service.

Maundy Thursday Table Communion was served on Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m.  Those attending included Lewis & Willie Thompson, Jeff & Allison Barry, Kim Hutcherson, Isabel Hutcherson, John & Ruth Wood, Susan McCarty, Keely McCarty, Ida Hull, Dee Dee Daniel, Florence Schoonover, Ina Tils and Beryl & Barbara Cragg.

Vacation Bible School has been set for May 19 - 23.  With the planning and the tremendous support, planners-teachers-congregation, another high light of the Church will take place.  Begin to plan for the Children.

Something must be in the air about another Bell Choir.  I have heard some talk about the Bell's for children, and I have seen a box opened and there were colored bells inside.  Shoo!  I hope I haven't "spilled the beans".

Again this year, we have been challenged to prepare Dental kits for Annual Conference.  Last year Susan presented 35 kits.  How many will she be able to present at this Annual Conference.

This Annual Conference will be different, in that the West Conference will join with us for our final day.  It had earlier been presented to us that we would not have the final vote on being one Conference til 2004.  However, it is thought that "the people" are ready to decide.  It would be helpful to Susan and your Pastor to know where you stand.

Palm Sunday in our church was wonderful.  But the day carried on into the afternoon, when others were able to hear "our" Chimes Choir, with Harold Dean Carothers and Christina with their trumpets, and the Adult Choir.  What an outing!!!  Harold Dead told us that the Chimes Choir needs to go "on the road".  (Aren't they great?)  The Community Choir had prepared for their best in the Afternoon Cantata and were well received.  When and What more can we expect?

The Youth Group went "Bowling for Bucks" Thursday Evening, March 29, to Hannibal.  I haven't heart all the stores yet, you know, scores and such.  Plans had been made for an earlier experience, finally worked out.  What with their skiing, now bowling, what's next?
