Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! We are happy that you found our digital home, and hope that you're able to learn as much as you can about our church. Located in the heart of Mackinaw City, Michigan, we have been a vital Christian presence for local residents and visitors for many years.

Baccalaureate
Mackinaw City Graduates will recognized at our Baccalaureate service, hel at The Church of the Straits on Thursday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m.. A reception will follow. We need "finger foods" for the reception. Ideas include veggies, chips, cheese & crackers, etc. There is a sign up sheet in Fellowship Hall. Also looking for helpers to serve.
Bidding Grant Lobb Farwell
A Farewell celebration for Rev. Grant and Debi Lobb will be held on June 3, 3:30pm at Memorial UMC in Gladstone. No charge or registration required. There will be a time of sharing and fellowship followed by light refreshments. If you would like to contribute to a parting gift for the Lobb’s, checks made out to "Marquette District UMC," and can be sent to the Marquette District Office: 111 E. Ridge, Marquette, MI, 49855. Please indicate "Lobb Gift" on the check.
Watering the Flower Barrels
If you can water them for a month this summer, please sign up in the Fellowship Hall. We will need someone for June, July, August and September.
SARM Annual Supper & Auction
This year's event will be on Sunday, May 20th at 4:00 pm. Auction items can be dropped off at The Church of the Straits. Supper "payment" is a donation. Proceeds benefit the mission trip in June.
Evangelism Course
Transforming Evangelism: The Wesleyan Way of Sharing Faith is being offered on Friday, June 1 and all day Saturday, June 2. Led by Rev. Erik Alsgaard at St. Ignace UMC. Course is open to all interested in Evangelism. Cost is $30 (includes text, snacks, other materials, and lunch on Sat.) To register, call 906-228-6678.
Operation Christmas Child
During May we're collecting small toothpaste, individual kleenex, lip balm, small soaps, and toothbrushes. The collection box is in the Fellowship Hall.
Finding Us
Coming north on I75:
- take the Jamet St. exit (#339) and drive east on Jamet St. for three blocks
- this will bring you directly to the church.
Coming south on I75:
- Take exit #339
- turn RIGHT on N. Louvingny
- follow this street as is loops to the right under the bridge (it becomes N. Huron Ave.)
- this will bring you to the church
