Ministries

We have several opportunities for you to study God's Word with others and to serve the Lord as a minister to others using your gifts from God.

Music Ministry

Elinore Dobson leads our music ministry as our choir director.  Children's Choir practice is on Thursdays at 6:30 pm and Adult Choir Practice follows at 7:15 pm.  Choir practice is open to everyone whether you read music or not.  Members also share their musical talent in a variety of forms throughout the year performing, playing instruments or singing special music during the worship service.

Sunday School

We offer Sunday school for all ages at 9:00 am.  For children, we are starting Godly Play for ages 4-12.  Godly Play is a Montessori-based Sunday School curriculum developed by Rev. Jerome Berryman.  For adults, we offer several different classes covering a variety of Christian topics.  

Bible Study with Pastor Wayne

Pastor Wayne Smith leads a newcomers Bible study periodically throughout the year.  Please see the information table after church services for more details. 

Upper Room Disciplines Small Groups

Members meet to discuss the Upper Room devotion book weekly.  They meet at the Atlanta Bread Co.   Two groups are formed:  one meets Mondays at 10-11:30am and one meets Tuesdays at 7-8:30pm.  Contact Howard (705-2720 or howardhock@davtv.com) for more details.

Small Group Ministry

Church of the Palms is beginning a Small Group ministry with the purpose to nurture the members of the Church as we get to know one another by sharing: 1) meals or refreshments; 2)  needs and concerns that members have; 3) God's Word through a time of devotion.  Contact Ray Price (707-5741) if you are interested.

United Methodist Men and United Methodist Women

Members of the church may belong to one of these service groups for fellowship and service to the church and the community.  Each group meets once a month.   Please check the events calendar for meeting times.
