COFFEE GROUP

The UMM meet Thursday mornings at the Colonial Coffee Shop for breakfast. All men are welcome.   See Steve Weldon for details.

 

 

SUNDAY SERVANTS

Please check the narthex bulletin board for assignments.  Jim Felten and Tom Impaglia are in charge of Hospitality and Sheryl Konopack is coordinating the nursery workers. 

 

CHURCH COUNCIL

The next meeting of the Church Council will be held on Monday June 2nd   at 7:30pm. All committee and ministry leaders are encouraged to attend. See Paul Dougherty for more information.

 

LAMPLIGHTER

It is with great disappointment that we are looking for a new Editor of the Lamplighter.  Kathie DeFusco who has done it for many years has decided to step down.  If you are interested in helping out with the monthly Newsletter please contact Pastor Shelley.  The next issue would be for September.

 

 

 

UNITED METHODIST MEN

Mark your Calendars – The Men’s group will be sponsoring a Golf Tournament at Hanover Golf Club on Saturday, June 14th.  There is a sign up sheet on the Bulletin Board in the Narthex.  Please see Dave Bryan with any questions

 

 

MISSION TRIP

Hamilton UMC in Neptune has reserved 24 spaces for volunteers to go to Mississippi and help Hurricane Katrina victims rebuild. The trip is from Feb.8-14, 2009. We have been invited to help fill those openings. If God is calling you to mission, please see Gail Oyler.

 

 

MISSION TRIP

 Vera DeFusco will be traveling to Mexico this summer with a mission team (including Alex Tavarez). They are leaving on July 5th directly from IYPC. The group will be working on homes and leading a VBS for children in Tijuana, Mexico. Thank you to all who have made a donation to support Vera in this effort! If you would still like to contribute, see Carl Edinger.

 

 

COFFEE HOUSE

John Ayres and The Church of the Master worship team will be performing at the Holy Grounds Christian book store and coffee shop during the summer! They recently performed on May 31st and have been invited to come back. Look for details on the narthex bulletin board for the next date.

MORE THAN A MOVIE NIGHT

Friday, June 13th       7-9 PM

The movie is TOY STORY

Refreshments will be available.  Please bring cushions, pillows, or sleeping bags from home for children to lie on as we watch the movie. Scripture will be shared

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHURCH PICNIC

Please mark your calendars – the Sunday School Church Picnic will take place on Sunday, June 8th from 12:30 – 4:00 pm in the Church Parking Lot.  The picnic will take place rain or shine and there will be lots to do!  We need lots of supplies – please see the sign up sheet in the Narthex.  Contact Dyna Krumich at 732-688-3274 for more information.

Our Sunday worship time will change to 9:30am for the summer months beginning on June 8th.

 

 

 

YOUTH INFORMATION

 

Rev. Wayne Jones invites all of the youth in the Northern Shore District to "Illuminating Immersion II." See the flyer included in this newsletter.

June 22nd:  Both youth groups will meet for an end of (youth group) year BBQ provided by the UMM.

HOWELL EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY

The Howell Food Pantry is in need of Food.  Donations have recently decreased and the need has greatly increased.  It is important as a Church that we do our part to ensure that our neighbor’s needs are met.  The following is a list of items needed – please donate.  Please make sure your donations have not passed the expiration date.  If you have any questions please see Erin Brown or Robin Pearson.  Thank you.
