Sunday
School classes participate in two mission projects every year: the
Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child and the Church World
Service Tools of Hope and Blanket Fund. Operation Christmas Child
delivers millions of gift-filled shoeboxes for children all over
the world to help spread the good news of Jesus. Churchill
Memorial has sent hundreds of shoeboxes in the past years.
The children of Churchill have
learned songs and presented skits in church to inform the
congregation of all the ways the “tools of hope” can help
needy families around the world for the Tools of Hope and Blanket Fund program. Another activity is the presentation of skits that show what
they have been learning throughout the year. Some recent programs
have centered around the story of Moses, the meaning of being a
disciple, and four of Jesus’ parables. Every December the Sunday School children also tell the Christmas
story with a musical play.
