Church of the Cross United Methodist Church

Honoring Christ by teaching God's word,

caring for each other, and reaching out to those beyond our doors......

To Our Visitors:  WELCOME!!!

We would like to extend an invitation for you to join us for worship. But even beyond that, we invite you or your family to join us for any of our ministry opportunities. At Church of the Cross, we are a family first. Our church is not the building, but rather the lives of individuals and families that call Church of the Cross their spiritual home.

From the moment you step inside our doors, you will feel welcome. We know no one is perfect. We all have our faults. But at Church of the Cross, our doors are always open (except for when we lock them at night). We don't require or even ask that you get your life in order before you join us...that's what the church is there for. We believe that the church is like a hospital. If our lives were perfect in every aspect, we would not have the need for God. But our lives are anything but perfect. In fact, for many of us, our lives are a complete mess. But like a hospital, the sick and wounded are welcome. Within and outside of our walls, you will feel welcomed, loved, and accepted...just as you are. By doing "life-together", we can all move toward healing in Jesus Christ.

If you decide to join us for worship, you might find the following info helpful:

V Service Time: Sunday mornings at 9:15am & 11:30am Worship services and WOW hour Bible Studies at 10:30am. Something for everyone!

V Nursery: The nursery is open for all three Sunday services

V Assistance: Ear phones and large print bulletins are available!

V Where to Park: Feel free to park anywhere in the lot you wish.  You will find handicapped parking spaces to the West of the Main doors.

V Our Welcome Center: We know coming to a new church can be scary and uncomfortable, especially since everyone else seems to know everyone else and know where everything is. From the moment you enter our facility, you will be greeted by members of our congregation that are available to point you in the right direction or answer any questions. We also offer a Welcome Center just inside the main doors that has information regarding our Sunday School classes, their locations and also information regarding nursery needs.

V Our Service: Come just as you are (fully clothed preferable). You will find individuals in full suits, but also those in jeans and t-shirts. If you worship best with a tie or dress, go for it! If you worship best in your favorite jeans and hoodie, by all means, come that way. Like we've said, we're a family and care more that your here, desiring to draw close to God, than how you choose to dress. Also, there are no assigned seats like in elementary school.  Sit wherever you are most comfortable.

V Communion: The first Sunday of each month we celebrate the sacrament (churchy) word for Communion. This is a tradition among the Methodist Church...regardless of which UMC you attend on the 1st Sunday, it's a safe bet to know Communion will be offered. You do not have to be a member of our church or the United Methodist Church for that matter to take part. Your faith in Jesus Christ makes you welcome at the table. You do not have to participate in you wish not to.

V Tithing: As our guest, you are encouraged to simply worship and pass on the offering. Our members support our ministries with their faithful giving. Their blessings from God in their own lives lead them to support the ministries of Church of the Cross.
