CHRIST UNITED METHODIST WOMEN - SEPTEMBER     I

PUMPKINS ARE COMING!!  PUMPKINS ARE COMING!!  Yes, it is that time of year again.  Pumpkins will be delivered, Saturday, October 10 between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m.   If anyone associated with Christ United Methodist Church is able to lift or pass pumpkins, you are needed.  Sign-up sheets will be available on the table in Narthex for you to indicate your willingness to help.  Please mark your calendar and sign up.  As we get closer to the delivery date, flyers advertising the Patch will be available in the Narthex.  Please take flyers and post them in your park or business to help us advertise the Pumpkin Patch.  The sign up sheet with time slots available for selling the pumpkins will also be placed in the Narthex near the end of September.  Again, all the help we can get for unloading and selling will be appreciated.  The money earned will support UMW mission projects.  Since UMW is not having a yard sale or bazaar this fall, UMW will wait until the end of the year to designate funds for Holt Hall.

 Thanks to Robert Swanson for finding a place to get pallets and volunteering to pick them up.  Wayne Steen also agreed to help.  This is the kind of support that makes this project successful year after year.  The Patch will be open through October 31.  Please help us spread the word.  Additional details will appear in Sunday bulletins.  If you have questions, please contact Martha Welling.

When you think of the food of the “good old days,” do you include meat loaf?  Sunday, September 27, following the 10:45 Worship Service, UMW will help you recall these memories with our meat loaf, mashed potato, and green bean menu.  Salads, drinks, bread and desserts will also be available-- all of this great food for $6.  Put this on your calendar.  It is always great for us to get together to visit and welcome back those who have been gone for the summer.

 United Methodist Women will meet Monday, September 21, 2009, for our regular business meeting and program. All UMW members and interested ladies are invited to attend.  Doris Ferguson will lead the discussion on Health Issues.  The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments and fellowship.  The business meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and is followed by the program.  Please join us.

 Echoes of Christian Mission for our district is scheduled for October 10, 2009, from 9:30 until noon at Hernando.  The mission studies presented at School of Christian Mission this summer will be the focus for our program. We can carpool and have a great day together—and yes, we will be back in time to unload pumpkins!

 PLEASE NOTE:

 Pecans will be sold again this fall.  Please plan to purchase from us.  Arrival time, prices, etc. will be advertised.

 THE KITCHEN COMMITTEE IS HAVING A CLEAN-UP DAY THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 AT 9 AM.  YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.  SEPTEMBER 17 IS ALSO SCHEDULED IF ADDITIONAL TIME IS NEEDED.  PLEASE COME.
