The United Methodist Church

Mission and Outreach Programs

Our Mission and Outreach ministry is divided among three areas: international, national and local. We traditionally respond to international and national emergencies by giving to the United Methodist Committee on Relief.  UMCOR is very quick to respond to emergencies and disasters.  We send our gifts through UMCOR because the whole gift goes for the crisis because administrative costs are covered through apportionments sent by United Methodist Churches to their respective annual conferences.

Christ First has responded to earthquakes, ice storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, terrorist attacks etc.  We have given generously to the building of churches in Africa.  During the pre Christmas season we collect money to buy blankets through Church World Services.  Locally our church supports the Salvation Army, Joint Neighborhood Project, St. Susan's Soup Kitchen, the Rescue Mission, Royal Family Kids Camp, several "Safe House" programs, an Adult Day Care Center, youth who go on a Mission of Peace, own food cupboard and several other projects.

Mission teams have gone to West Virginia, North Carolina, The Bahama's, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Honduras, Chuuk, Cuba, Peru, Kenya, Haiti, New York City; and Jamaica.

We have been blessed as a congregation and our desire is to share those blessings with others who are in need.

Our United Methodist Women also support several missions through their financial giving.

Mission and Outreach projects through our apportionment dollars to the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church can be found on The United Methodist Committee on Relief's (UMCOR) ministries
