Allan makes his home with his father and his mother.  Running errands is his household duty.  His father is employed as a teacher and his mother maintains the home.  There are 3 children in the family.

As part of Compassion's ministry, Allan participates in Sunday School and Bible Class.  He is also in pre-school where his performance is average.  Soccer, basketball & playing group games are his favorite activities.

Allan lives in mountainous Totonicapan, with a population of nearly 80,000. Adults work as farmers, traders, and domestic help.  Less than half of the men and women find regular employment.  Older children also work at farming or sell in the markets.

Common health problems include malnutrition, dental and vision problems, gastrointestinal illness, and also respiratory infections.
