Our Sanctuary
As a Recital Venue
Our Steinway & Sons concert grand, built in 1883, was restored in 2004 under the direction of Ladson Romano of Peekskill, New York. Restoration included replacement of most of the piano's action, restringing, voicing and complete mechanical regulation.
Our sanctuary, completed in 1871, offers astounding acoustics, seating for over 600 and a perfect home to this magnificent instrument which brings joy to all who play it.
In the spring of 2005 our congregation made a historic decision to transform our worship experience. Our sanctuary now offers 4 large plasma screens and media center from which technicians can project images captured by 3 robotic cameras. We have a professional sound system including choir mic. Our media center allows us to create DVDs merging images from all 3 cameras with the recorded sound.
Our space and technology will allow your students' family to sit back and enjoy the recital. DVDs of the recital can be provided for the teacher to review or to copy and, if wanted, sell to parents. The cost for this involves hiring at least one of our technicians for the duration of the event, approximately $40 per hour, a small fee for reproducible rights and for the actual master DVDs provided on the day of the event. We also have 2 fellowship halls which can be used for a reception following your recital.
