Our Prayer Shawl Ministry began in April of 2011 when a member received a prayer shawl from a church they regularly attended when vacationing in Montana. Her husband had gotten sick while there and after their departure the church made one and sent it to him- thus - our ministry is an offspring from the church in Montana.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a rewarding act of love as a visable way to show God's love and our love through Him. Our ministry has grown rapidly and is a tool to reaching out beyond our members to touch our community. The Prayer Shawls are given to those who need prayer for various reasons such as sickness, surgery, loss of a family member, new baby, loss of job, heart attack, and many more. They are given for any and all occasions.

The Prayer Shawl is actually called a Talit or covering which symbolizes the commandments of the Torah. The fringes are made to hang from the four corners reminding the wearer to shut out the world and not to be mindful of one's own desires but rather to follow God's desires.  Prayer Shawls when presented to a person of need represent a spiritual uplifting.  They are usually prayed over by many people before being presented.  When prayers are spoken over the shawl, they penetrate into every fiber of the fabric and remain there when worn by the recipient.  Many have testified to a special blessing from God when worn in faith.  The shawl itself promises no healing virtue but, because of prayers prayed over the shawl, God has open doors to minister to the needy.  When a shawl is delivered by committee members and/or the minister, it is prayed over again.  Across the top is an inlayed piece of fabric which has a scripture of Psalms 91 which is the chapter of promise and protection.
