UMYF, Youth Disciple Time - meets WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

I want to thank everyone who attended the Valentines Banquet and supported the event for the Youth as their fundraiser for their summer camp. This was the main fundraiser for the Youths summer camp. Please contact me if you have any odd jobs for the Youth to earn additional money for camp. We have reservations for 15 youth and counselors for Snowbird Outfitters in Andrews, NC. Camp will start June 9th 2008 and will last for five days, we will be returning on June 13th. We need to confirm reservations for all Youth planning to attend as soon as possible. A deposit of at least $75.00 is required to hold your spot and those not able to afford that can make arrangements. We need to know who wants to go as soon as possible. All interested Youth should contact Kim or myself to reserve a spot if you haven't already. The Youth from First Chipley UMC attended this camp two summers ago and they have given it high marks for spiritual and leadership growth. Pray for us that next summer will be just as spiritually awakening for our UMYF. Total cost will be $330 per spot, balance will be due one at least one month in advance of the camp. Scholarships are available. Other news the annual Youth Spring Rally sponsored by the Alabama-West Florida Annual Conference will be held the last weekend in April. The Spring Fling is called “Dive In” and will be held at Shalimar Retreat Center at Panama City Beach. The rally will begin Friday, April 25 and will end Sunday April 27. Cost per youth prior to April 1st will be $95 and after the 1st it will increase to $119 per student. This includes lodging, meals and programming events. The Bell Choir with our youth and our adult mentors made our first appearance during the Christmas Season. Thanks to those that came out and thanks to those that supported our young bell ringers. Special thanks to the mentors Bebe Ellis, Marlene Ray, Vonceil Coggin and Amelia Buchanan. We still can use some more youth and adult mentors. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to make a joyful noise. Kim and I want to thank everyone who helped. Your support is appreciated.
