Special Events and Groups

Throughout the church year, we have a variety of events that occur for all ages. Some are connected to the liturgical seasons of the year like Christmas and Easter and others are events that have been the traditions of this congregation every year. We hope you will come and participate in these events. The groups in the church welcome cross cultural and multi age experiences. Find a group that fits your needs and encourages your growth.

Youth Group:

Grace Church has 16 youth, the majority of which are active. They meet every other week and they have designed a program that encompasses four areas of focus. They are:

·         Education: Classes on topics chosen by the youth.

·         Spirituality: Classes on the Bible, Bible history, archeology and topics chosen by the youth.

·         Service: Projects chosen by the youth include, visitation to the shut-ins, feeding meals at COMEA, painting in low-income housing, food and clothing drives and mission projects sponsored by the church.

·         Recreation: Fun filled experiences including sleep-overs at the church, going to Denver to Elitche Gardens, WaterWorld, etc.

We have lay-sponsored youth leaders and the congregation has committed $1000 from the funds of the church to help offset costs of having a youth group. In addition, our youth participate in the following events:

  • UP WITH YOUTH, an annual gathering of more than 1000 youth in Estes Park, Colorado. Classes, worship, talent shows and just plain fun. Always held in April.
  • CONFIRMATION RETREAT, led by our pastor every President's Day weekend and held at the YMCA camp in Estes Park. The new 7th and 8th graders are invited to classes leading to confirmation and membership in the church. All other youth are invited to come along for a repeat course or a senior high discussion group dealing with the issues of adolescence.
  • WAYE, Wyoming Annual Youth Experience, held each year at Casper, WY. for Jr. and Sr. High. Classes, workshops, pizza bazaar, and a talent show are just part of this fun weekend. Always held in November.

The youth of Grace Church conduct 2 worship services a year and they participate in all the worship duties. In addition they hold office and are expected to perform their adult membership activities. Many of our youth have participated in mission projects and they are included on teams traveling nationally and internationally.

Our youth are not only the future, they are the present power of energy that keeps a congregation young and active. We welcome all our youth with open arms, loud noises, squeaky personalities and spiritual questions. Without them, we will have forgotten our own days of development and growth. They are a constant reminder to our duty to help our youth make the future better and to always make a difference in someone else's life.
