Your skills, talents, or service would be most welcome on any one of the following committees or ministry areas

Committee on Nominations and Personnel
Ensure that the congregation has a process for encouraging members to serve as is appropriate in the church. The Committee, working through the year, is discovering, inviting, nominating, and supporting people for leadership positions essential to the ministries of nurture and outreach in the community. The Pastor is the chairperson of this committee.

Annual Conference Delegate
Our Annual Conference Delegation consists of two persons plus one alternate who represent the church, for four days, at the Annual Conference in June, and are members of the Church Council, and may attend every board & committee.

The Administrative Council
This is the committee that makes basic policy and major program decisions for the church. It serves by coordinating the schedule of programs by the various ministry areas in the overall church calendar and in carrying out its program. They also lead the congregation in long-range planning. The Administrative Council is made up of at-large members and the Chairperson of each church committee.

Board of Trustees
This board is responsible for the supervision, oversight, and care of all real property owned by the local church and of all property and equipment acquired directly by the local church or by any board, class, commission, or similar organization within the church. It also provides general oversight for the investments. Will be involved with the Wills & Legacies Committee concerning gifts and bequests to CUMC

Parsonage Committee
The Parsonage Committee attends to the maintenance and upkeep of the Parsonage. Representatives of the Board of Trustees and Staff-Parish Relations Committee, at-large members, and the Pastor serve on the Committee, which meets occasionally, as called, in advance of the annual meeting.

Worship Ministry Area
This area is charged with aiding all within the congregation in their understanding of the meaning, purpose and practice of worship. They work with the pastor in making the sanctuary ready and pleasing in appearance to aid worship. The Committee works with the pastor to make sure that the many details of worship (such as liturgists, music, communion, ushers, greeters, flowers, etc.) are planned.

Music Ministry Area
This committee by discipline falls under the Worship Ministry Area and is responsible to encourage and support the musicians in the local congregation, and to work to discover and develop persons to serve as church musicians. They encourage the teaching of music to all ages including our heritage of song and the use of music in worship.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee consists of a chairperson, who attends meetings of the Church Council, an Annual Conference Delegate, a representative of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees, Lay Leader, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and at-large members. It provides general financial review, proposes a budget, and supervises the annual audit. The committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday, of the month.

Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee directs the annual financial campaign, encouraging members understanding of Christian Stewardship, and to celebrate and commit their time, talents, and treasures in the ministry of the Church.

Wills & Legacies Committee
The Wills & Legacies Committee invites persons to remember the church in their wills and through gifts to funds and the endowment. They develop educational opportunities throughout the year for both the congregation and the community.

Committee on History
Helps the congregation to document its historical identity by keeping records in an orderly fashion so that it may preserve and build on its heritage. May request information from Administrative Council, Trustees and other groups as needed.

The Education Committee
This ministry area coordinates the planning and implementation of a comprehensive Christian education ministry for our congregation and community including children, youth, and adults. To do this they recruit teachers and provide training as required.

Pastor/Staff Parish Relations Committee
This committee is responsible to guide the Church Council on personnel matters regarding the paid staff. They confer and counsel with the pastor and staff concerning conditions within the church as they affect relations between the pastor and other church staff, and the congregation by continually interpreting to the people the nature and function of the ministry. They also take care of annual evaluations, pulpit supply, etc.
