Music Ministry Area
This committee by discipline falls under the Worship Ministry Area and is
responsible to encourage and support the musicians in the local congregation,
and to work to discover and develop persons to serve as church musicians. They
encourage the teaching of music to all ages including our heritage of song and
the use of music in worship.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee consists of a chairperson, who attends meetings of the
Church Council, an Annual Conference Delegate, a representative of the
Staff-Parish Relations Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees, Lay Leader,
Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and at-large members. It provides general
financial review, proposes a budget, and supervises the annual audit. The
committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday, of the month.
Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee directs the annual financial campaign, encouraging
members understanding of Christian Stewardship, and to celebrate and commit
their time, talents, and treasures in the ministry of the Church.
Wills & Legacies Committee
The Wills & Legacies Committee invites persons to remember the church in
their wills and through gifts to funds and the endowment. They develop
educational opportunities throughout the year for both the congregation and the
community.
Committee on History
Helps the congregation to document its historical identity by keeping records in
an orderly fashion so that it may preserve and build on its heritage. May
request information from Administrative Council, Trustees and other groups as
needed.
The Education Committee
This ministry area coordinates the planning and implementation of a
comprehensive Christian education ministry for our congregation and community
including children, youth, and adults. To do this they recruit teachers and
provide training as required.
Pastor/Staff Parish Relations Committee
This committee is responsible to guide the Church Council on personnel
matters regarding the paid staff. They confer and counsel with the pastor and
staff concerning conditions within the church as they affect relations between
the pastor and other church staff, and the congregation by continually
interpreting to the people the nature and function of the ministry. They also
take care of annual evaluations, pulpit supply, etc.
Mission/Social Concerns Ministry Area
Mission/Social Concerns Ministry Area assists the congregation to learn
about ways
to faithfully live out the mission of the church and to meet
the needs of the world while working to transform society for peace and
justice for all.
Evangelism Ministry Area
This ministry area works to make evangelism an ongoing priority ministry of
the congregation, to win people to a profession or a renewal of faith in Jesus
Christ. They focus on the care of all members of the church, inactive members of
the church and those within the community who are not members of any church.
Communications Committee
This ministry area is responsible for effective communications throughout
the congregation. Major areas of responsibility are external communications to
the community, internal communications within the congregation, promotion of
local, district, conference and church-wide programs and benevolence.
Other Committees and Groups come into existence from time to time as needed.
