Many of you have heard about the MS team the three of us started called Precious Petits. We came up with this idea while we were grieving together after the Monday night service on the day of the tragedy. When Mrs. Petit was first diagnosed with MS, Hayley had decided to take charge and raise money for the cure by forming her own team 7 years ago. It was Michaela’s plan to continue in Hayley’s footsteps. Through the girls' determination and big hearts, we were inspired to create our own team to honor all three girls.

We wrote a letter to Mr. Petit that was read at both services, and we would like to read it again now to help tell how this team was formed. (Read the letter) See letter below

 The official Cheshire MS walk is Sunday May 4, 2008. Because the walk is on a Sunday, we wanted to have a Sunrise Service that day so more church members would be able to take part in the team. Following the sunrise service, there will be a breakfast sponsored by Bagelicious Bagels. We encourage you to enjoy both events. We will also be having team shirts this year. The order form for these shirts will be in fellowship hall after January 1, 2008. The three of us are going to be the chairs of the team, but anyone can be a member. We would be happy to have you.

We are happy to report that we have received many donations from people and organizations outside of our church, Money collections will start after January 1st. A team membership sign up sheet will be in fellowship hall after January 1st as well. If you have any questions, please see one of us. Dear Mr. Petit, Family, and Friends,

We are thinking and praying for you. Mr. Petit, you’re one of the greatest and strongest men we know.  Your love and compassion has been shown in your everyday life and church life.  We love and admire you, and look up to you (literally), as one of the best role models.  We want to be here for you in any way we can, whether it’s a hug or a smile.  The scripture for UM Army this year was from Timothy, saying, “Don’t let people look down  upon you because you are young.”  Although we are young children of God, we want to be able to comfort you in any way possible.

You’ve given so much to us, that in return we’d like to give back a little something. We want to do this by following in the foot steps of your wonderful wife and daughters by making a church team for the MS walk. We heard on the news that Michaela had planned to do a team called, “Michaela’s Miracle”. We wanted to do this by making a team to not only honor her, but your whole family. We came up with the name, “Precious Petits”, because that is exactly what your family is. Our goal is to raise a lot of money and we believe we can achieve that because of the love the community has for your family. You and your family have been one of the best blessings in our lives.
