CHAPEL HILL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH |
YMCA - LOFT
"Providing Safe, Purposeful Activity for the Children of Benton Harbor"
Our Mission -- The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles
into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and
body for all.
Our Philosophy -- We are committed to the development and growth of
all people. Our program reinforces four important principles that
help a person be successful in all they seek to accomplish. These
principles are caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect.
Our goal is to help children grow mentally, physically and
spiritually by providing social, educational, and recreational
activities in both large and small groups.
Our Programming -- We currently have an art room, a theater, a game
room, a computer lab, and library. We use these areas to build
programs that will encourage children to learn, explore and grow in
character. We strive to ensure that every child feels welcome and
wanted through providing one-on-one support for activities. We have
more space available to us as we are able to expand our programs.
2002-2003 Statistics -- The children to the YMCA LOFT from about a
ten block radius. We have an average of 23 children a day and an all
time hight of 60. The youngest children are 7 and our oldest is 16.
The marjority of the children are between the ages of 11-13.
