Church History The Chapel was founded in 1847 and was located on land provided by Jacob Gesseman. A small meeting house was erected and a new cemetary was laid out. The original church building was moved down the street to make room for the "new" building. This new building provided a much larger sanctuary. A classroom addition and foundation were added later. The women of the church have always been very active, in fact they were responsible for getting electric lights installed in the church. (In fact they were able to get the whole town wired for lights.) In 1968 a new sanctuary and classroom addition were added onto the church building. The old sanctuary was remodeled into a multi-purpose Fellowship Hall. In August 1997 we celebrated our 150th anniversary. As we look back over the rich heritage of our congregation, we can not help but be excited about what the future holds. A cordial invitation is extended to
you to worship, study, and pray with us at the Chapel . . View
