PRECIOUS LIFE

Precious Life is an ecumenical faith-based agency in Altoona that helps area women who choose to keep their babies instead of having an abortion.  The agency is in continuous need of good used and new infant clothing (sizes 0-24 months), maternity clothes, and baby furniture.  We will be collecting these items for Precious Life as a mission outreach project for Christ United Methodist Church. 

LOCAL FOOD BANK

Any non-perishable food item is needed for our local food bank. 

MISSION CENTRAL - MECHANICSBURG, PA

Mission Central is a large storage/clearing house that collects, assembles, and distributes thousands of items to people here in the U.S. as well as the rest of the world.  The needs list can be found at Mission Central's designated collection box, or contact the church office.

BEAR MISSION

A Bear Ministry is a way for us to reach out to those who are sick, those who recently lost a loved one, or those who just need to know that someone cares.  A box for the donations of stuffed bears and other animals has been placed under the table in the large Sunday School room.  Please don't hesitate to bring in animals of all shapes and sizes.  Our bears are ready to help! 

MOTHER'S DAY CARDS

Looking for the perfect Mother's Day gift?  Pass your mother's love on to a child in need and let us do the work for you.  Simply send a donation to the United Methodist Home for Children, 5120 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.  Enclose the name of your honoree and the address where you would like the card sent.  We will send a Children's Home Mother's Day card on your behalf.  Cards can be sent in honor of or in memory of your loved one.

HUB NEEDS HEALTH KIT ITEMS

The Altoona District HUB of Mission Central has announced that the following items are needed as volunteers assemble Health Kits:

                              Hand towels and washcloths

                              Toothbrushes and toothpaste

                              Combs

                              Metal nail files or fingernail clippers

                              Bar of bath soap

                              Band Aids

                             Gallon re-sealable plastic bags
