Join a conversation about Central's vision/mission
Susan Grettenberger
If you heard any of the recent sermons about Central's vision or participated
in the process of developing the vision, you may have ideas about how our
church ministry might be enhanced. An ad hoc group of church members working
with the vision statement during the past year suggested it would be helpful
to give you a chance to talk with our new pastor about your understanding
of the vision.
Wednesday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 25 at 10:00
a.m., Pastor McReynolds will listen to your thoughts about Central's vision.
Susan Grettenberger will facilitate, which means there will probably be some
food and drinks, too. This is open to anyone interested in sharing personal
insights about how Central might fulfill the vision we have identified for
our congregation. This is a time for us to share with Russ.
There will be other opportunities to hear from Russ about his vision for
the church's ministry. For more information or if you would like to do this
but can't come during these times, please contact Susan at 372-4146 or via
e-mail, at gretten2@msu.edu. We look forward to having you join us!!
Also, the spiritual gifts retreat in August is a great way to get on board
with implementation of the vision, too. Look for that announcement in the
Central Journal.
Work continues for the downtown ecumenical build for Habitat for
Humanity
Thank you for your prayers for the ongoing success of this project! The downtown
churches continue to work faithfully, contributing prayers, volunteers, and
financial support. If you plan to volunteer in either the construction or
support (meals, planning, etc.) and have not ever attended a Habitat for
Humanity training, please attend one of these:
July 25, 7-9 p.m. at First Presbyterian
Mid-August at Pilgrim Congregational
Please turn in your volunteer sheets ASAP to the church desk, or call Mary
Boudreau at 372-4146. God bless you and God bless the DEB!
