MISSION STATEMENT |
|
The mission of the churches of the James River Charge is to respond to the claims, promises, call, and love of God through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by giving ourselves to the authentic worship and service of God, by offering opportunities for such worship and service to children and adults everywhere, by seeking out the spiritual and physical needs of members of our respective communities, and by providing leadership and guidance in the fulfilling of such a high calling.
To accomplish this mission, work areas of Nurture and Membership Care, Outreach and Family Ministries have been established for the purpose of:
V identifying and using the talents, gifts and creative resources of our members. V increasing interest and participation in the spiritual life and growth of our congregations. V enacting a regularly scheduled plan of visitation to inactive members and non-members of our churches. V providing opportunities for Christian education for all age levels. V sponsoring opportunities for fellowship for all age levels. V creating a means of communication and connection among the churches of our charge. V |
