Little Tokyo
Service Center (LTSC) is a multi-purpose social service agency that provides
counseling/case management, housing, transportation, translation, consumer
education, and health education. Besides
the groups meeting at Centenary, LTSC also sponsors many other support groups
in the
Alzheimer’s Support
Group for Caregivers
Conducted in both Japanese and English, participants support each other by learning better ways to take care of loved ones afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease, providing emotional support and also sharing information on the illness, care giving and stress management. Meetings are two Thursdays a month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Cancer Support Group
This LTSC support group meets on two Wednesdays a month at 10:30 a.m. It gives participants an opportunity to share information and provides emotional and social support for caregivers, families, and cancer patients.

Crafts Class
This Adult Education class meets on Thursday afternoons from 1:15-3:15. Under the guidance of instructor Reiko Nakano, participants create beautiful Fimo jewelry, cards, knickknacks and holiday items.

Karate Class
Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu of Little Tokyo is a non-commercial dojo, training in a familial, non-competitive atmosphere. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Nisei Week
Inaugurated in 1933 during the Depression years, this event draws business and tourism to Little Tokyo. For seven decades, participants and spectators have enjoyed the foods, crafts, cultural events, sports activities, parade and ondo (street dancing). Centenary serves as the site for the Baby Show and Parade Reception.
