Chikara Daiko

Taiko (which means “big drum”) is a wonderful way to connect to our Japanese-American heritage and community, as well as a source of fellowship and robust exercise.  By establishing our identity and expressing our unique heritage, Chikara Daiko endeavors to connect with faiths, cultures, and people through music.  An 8-week beginning course is offered once a year for those interested in experiencing the vibrancy of taiko.  Pre-Chikara practice is at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to develop the necessary skills to join and commit to Chikara Daiko.  A nominal fee is charged for each session.

If interested, please contact Brian Kurushima.

Children’s Choir

The Children’s Choir is an informal gathering of our Church School children and their families who gather to learn songs of praise for special worship services and events.  The children often create hand motions, arrange verses and designate soloists.  The ability to read is not necessary to join this choir because the Holy Spirit always seems to find its voice whenever this group meets.  Practice time is determined by special worship dates.

If interested, please contact Rev. KarenFay Ramos-Young.
