Plan of Union
While we all are ministers of our faith,
our pastor is Rev. James Simmons
Pastor
James began his service as pastor and spiritual of Christ's Church on July 1, 2007, as an appointee by the bishop of the United Methodist Church. With extensive study and degrees in education, art and music as well as pastoral care, he brings great energy, talent and compassion to his leadership role. His passion for outreach and mission is exemplified by his participation in a mission trip to Kenya, Africa where he worked with children with AIDS in the construction of shelters and other daily tasks.
Pastor James can be contacted at the church (503-838-1724), by cell phone (503-851-3213) or email: prayercrane@aol.com
When you contact the church office you will
probably be talking with Janna Moser, the church's administrative assistant.
Music leaders are Elizabeth Weiss on the keyboard, Kevin Elmore directing the
vocals and Bob Archer with the handbells. The congregation is regularly blessed with special on the flute, clarinet and saxophone by Jai King and on the trombone by Jim Herzog. Roles assumed by other volunteers on Sunday morning are teachers, ushers, lay leaders, coffee makers and persons operating the electronic equipment.
Others offer rides, bring flowers and help in what ever way seems benefical. Opportunities abound for all to offer their skills and services. |

Mike is one of us and a special minister to us.
You'll recognize him. He greets his friends with a high five or a hug bigger than any bear can give. "You OK?" is a typically greeting from Mike. Or "You happy today?"
Mike puts the numbers for the hymns up on the placard. |

One ministry of Christ's Church is its support of the local food bank
which is called the Ella Curran Food Bank located in Independence, Oregon
just off Main Street. A long time strong supporter and director of the
food bank is our neighbor, friend and fellow Christian, Pat Jaffer. The
need for food continues, in fact the need is continuing to increase and
each of us in our plenty can help with donations of food, money or time.
If you can help contact the church office.
Stephens Ministers are a group of volunteers
trained in supporting persons in need. If you have a special need after
a loss of job, or someone to death, or through divorce or illness, please
contact the church office or pastor for details.
