AUGUST 17, 2006

Present:  Diane Broadwell, Gary Crain, Karen Culbertson, Tom Dungan, Henry Hamilton, Bunny Langston, Clay Legendre, Ray Raney, Ramona Irvan, Ed Weilland, Renita Williams, Benji Winn, Pat Worley, John Lavo, Sammy Gryder, Robert Newberry, Roger Tinsley, Laura Fowler, Dee Hunt, Linda Volentine,  Montene Hamilton and Marietta Payne.

Clay Legendre called the meeting to order and asked for any prayer requests.  Prayer was given by John Lavo.

July minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s report (attached) was given.  Cynthia went over those items that particularly related to Walk 49.  The report was approved.

Walk #49 – Comments were given by Ramona Irvan (LD), Bunny Langston (Bd. Rep)

and Laura Fowler (Agape Chief).  Laura made several suggestions that                          might be helpful for upcoming Walks: throw away magazines each walk,

replace tea candles, limit number of letters given to each pilgrim in the                           conference room, reminder to not put names on agape items (put name on                                 bag to return extras).

Karen Culbertson will contact both registrars about limiting the number of                     letters to pilgrims to 10-12.

Walk #50 – Robert Newberry reported that all is going well.  Team training starts next                    week.  He will check will Alison about the cross and lanyards.

Walk#51 – Marietta Payne now has a complete Conference Room Team.  Linda                                        Volentine will be her Agape Chief.  Some discussion was held concerning                             Team Selection and Agape team. LD should check list of prior team service                    and areas served, but LD chooses Agape Chief.

Website report – Roger Tinsley shared some changes that will allow for immediate response to Prayer and Agape sign up.  The changes will also give an inventory update.  Roger asked Diane Broadwell to work with  this updated program.  She agreed.  The board gave approval for the change.

Chrysalis Report was given by Sammy Gryder (attached).  It was asked that someone tour Camp Caney and see how it looks.  We can give consideration to having a Gathering there.  Report was approved.

The August Gathering will be at Love Chapel UMC in Haughton.

Committee Reports

·        Newsletter has been sent to print and should be in the mail.

·        Board Retreat – After much discussion, Clay asked us to write down concerns and give them to Eddie Faith.  Ray Raney will ask at the Gathering for any concerns. A date is yet to be decided.

·        A Chrysalis Scholarship Fund in memory of Al Smyth was suggested.

·        2007 dates – Tom Dungan asked again about having no April Walks (Easter conflict).  Feb.22-25 is the Men’s Walk at Camp Bethany (Mathew Hirsch, LD).  Mar. 8-11 is Women’s Walk at Camp Bethany (Lucy Burcham, LD).

Since Camp Bethany is full in the summer, the motion was made and                                          approved, that we schedule Camp Harris for August 2-5, 2007.  We will be                       looking for opportunities to schedule this Walk even earlier in the summer                           in 2008…

Tom Dungan and Bunny Langston will go over to Camp Caney to check it out

for future use by the community.

*Gary Crain will contact Barb Fuller about discussing Reunion Groups at the                    Gathering on Sept. 16.

The meeting was adjourned.

Prayerfully submitted,

Bunny Langston
