Welcome to the Catskill United Methodist Church

Welcome In His Name

Welcome to the Catskill United Methodist Church. It is an honor and joy that I am called to servant leadership in this congregation. God challenges us to be the vehicle by which all of God's people can learn, experience and witness the wonders of life in and through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are eager to hear from you and to assist you on your faith journey. As pastor, I will help guide this parish in fulfilling its vision of mission and ministry. May God's blessings continue with you. We look forward to the opportunity for the Catskill United Methodist Church to become an integral part of your life and faith experience.

In His Service,
Pastor Wilkerson revwilkerson1@yahoo.com

A Message from our Lay Leaders

The Catskill United Methodist Church is a bustling place of activity, change and growth each day of the week. Although our building remains the same, ably cared for by our Trustees, the vitality inside continues to grow.

The Giving Tree Daycare continues to thrive and has recently expanded the existing program to include toddler care. Before- and after-school care for school-aged children is also available. These programs provide a much-needed ministry to our community.

We have a revitalized Committee on Church Life and Outreach. Look for exciting ideas and events to leap from these areas.

Our Education Committee and Sunday School also continue to thrive. Along with maintaining the current levels of attendance, we can look forward to expanded educational programming for all our members.

The Catskill United Methodist Youth Group provides a safe and nurturing environment for our teens. They are a very active, caring and giving segment of our congregation.

This is just a thumbnail sketch of what is happening in this church. We look forward to being a vital part of future change in our community and the world. We welcome ALL people to come and walk with us. Come worship with us and you will find a safe, spirit-filled home. When Christ is the center of your life, great things happen!

Wesley Choir:
This is the inter-generational every-week choir that keeps music a part of the Sunday service. This choir meets on Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm in the sanctuary.
Winans Ringers:
Someone interested in performing music who feels he or she is not a singer still has the opportunity to create music by ringing handbells. This four-octave ensemble meets Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Many choose to stay from 6:30 to 8:30 for a convenient, satisfying evening of music and fellowship. The evening sometimes ends with a brief prayer circle where those who wish to can share their needs and joys.

Gospel Chords
Gospel Chords is an invitation-only Christian String band plus vocalists who do a mix of originals and standards with an old-timey flavor. Guitars, bass, mandolin and banjo back up singers who are usually only one or two to a part. This group meets after church on alternate Sundays.
