Kids and Church
Then little children were being brought to him in order that he
might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to
those who brought them; but Jesus said, "Let the little children come
to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the
kingdom of heaven belongs."
(Mat 19:13-14 NRSV)
It has been said that children are the future of the church - the
truth is that children are the church of today. First United
Methodist Church believes this and welcomes children as essential and
valued members of congregation life. Ministry with and for children
is a priority at First United Methodist Church. We believe that faith
development, intergenerational relationships, and participation in a
faith community are assets that children need as they grow and
mature.
Children's Church is offered in the Summer and
children gather for a worship time after the Children's Sermon.
