                On July 14, at noon we had our annual picnic on Alberta’s back porch.  A beautiful day, wonderful food brought by everyone, good fellowship, and lots of fun.  Carol Modrick gave an inspirational devotional.  We then played games and ate ourselves silly.  A good time was had by all.  Thank you Alberta for opening your home and hosting for us.

                Next scheduled events:

August 11 – Movie and dinner 5PM at Darlene’s.

September 8 – Anointing Service (This service is for everyone, come be anointed and prayed for.) 7PM at Sanctuary.

September 10 – Day Apart & Annual Meeting of Washing District and Connellsville District UMW.

Lunch will be $8.50 and child care will be provided.   Registration deadline is August 31.  Please see Bunny before that if you are planning to attend.  We will be carpooling.

MISSIONS

          Dear Brothers and Sisters, what’s the use of saying you have faith if you don’t prove it by your actions?  That kind of faith can’t save anyone.  Suppose you see a brother or sister who needs food or clothing, and you say, “Well, good-bye and God bless you; stay warm and eat well”- but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing.  What good does that do?  So you see, it isn’t enough just to have faith.  Faith that doesn’t show itse’f by good deeds is no faith at all- it is dead and useless.  James 2: 14-17 So pray for those in need, but most of all do help them.  We appreciate your support for this ministry, as we help those in desperate need locally and around the world. 

                Our committee will be having our annual fundraising event Saturday, August 29, at the Coal Parade, in the Fellowship Hall.  Please help in any way that you can.  And come and join in the festivities and fun.  More details to follow.
