It’s hard to believe that as I write this article July is about half over; where is the time going? 

The Adult / Family Ministry Program held our annual Strawberry Festival on June 6th.  We served lunch and dinner specials, along with a variety of strawberry desserts.  In conjunction with the festival we held a bake sale.  Both events were well attended and we received many compliments from the community. We estimated there to have been in the range of 100-150 people served.

I am happy to report that our monthly Community Dinners are still thriving and being well received by the Carmichaels community.  For June’s dinner we served Stuffed Peppers with mashed potatoes.  July’s dinner was a local favorite of Creamed Chicken over biscuits with mashed potatoes and peas.  We tend to average between 75 to 100 dinners served each month.  Dinners are held in the Fellowship Hall on the second Friday of each month.  Dinner is served between 4PM – 6PM. 

As I write this newsletter the AFM is deep into preparations for the Christmas in July Party that will be held on Sun., July 26 at the Fellowship Hall.  The party will begin at 2PM.  We will be playing a number of games, including a favorite from last year – the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest.  The committee will serve hot dogs, sloppy joes, fries and other goodies.  We look forward to seeing you and having fun at this event.

The committee is also preparing for our 5th annual Calendar Party begin held on Sat., Aug. 1.  The party will be held in the Fellowship Hall and begin at 4PM.  Plan on arriving early to be able to take part in the Chinese Auction.  The committee has collected a wide variety of items to choose from.  Our entertainment this year is a little different from years past, and is not to be missed.  We look forward to seeing you there.  Special thanks to all of our hostesses for all the hard that goes into hosting a table.
