Pastors' Message

Mrs Autura Hampton. .
Pastor
Greetings in the name of our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ!
Looking for Good News?
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future." - Jeremiah 29:11
I like basketball, baseball and football.
When my teams win (University of Memphis Tigers, LA Lakers, St. Louis
Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys)-that is good news to me! But that is likely bad news
for their opponents and fans. Almost anything I can think of that might be good
for me, might be bad for someone else. For example, I love seafood, but I know
people whose tongues swell up if they come in contact with shellfish. Cars and
trucks are great for transporting us to and fro, but the emissions are bad for the
environment. So is there any good news that is good for everyone?
I believe there is. The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as I
understand it, is good for all people, whether believers or non-believers. Why?
Because Christ died for all, has risen for all, and will intercede for all. We
are children of God. So Christ loves us before we have the capacity to love Him
or anyone else. Christ's love is unconditional (there are no ifs, ands, or
buts). As long as we live, Christ protects us and intercedes for us while we
falter, flounder, and faint. Everyday that we awaken is an opportunity for the
Gospel to make all the difference in our lives. The Good News is that Christ
gives us (all of us) a hope and a future. We pray that you will join us at Capleville
(corner of Shelby Drive and Riverdale) on Sundays, at 10:50 a.m., as we pursue
God's plans for His children-plans for a future with hope!
