Camp
Overlook offers a variety of children's programs throughout the year:
The
summer camp programs are designed to:
- Create a Christian environment in an
out-of-doors setting that will be conducive to personal and group
experiences with God and learning His will for our lives.
- Provide experiences away from home to
develop self-reliance and dependability.
- Awaken within each person a sense of
wonder, an awareness of God's creative power in the physical universe,
and a sense of responsibility for conservation of these physical and
natural resources for humankind.
- Encourage mutual understanding and deep
appreciation between all individuals.
- Assist all persons in making meaningful
in their lives the teachings of Jesus and the experiences of humankind
recorded in the Bible.
ChrisKids
ChrisKids have more fun! Life becomes a joyous celebration as we live,
work, and play together. We will look to the Bible for examples of how
to live to be God's children and then explore the opportunities it
brings as we hike, swim, enjoy games, archery, crafts, campfires and
more. Housed on
Agape
Hill your camp family (12 coed campers and 2 couselors) will
share many adventures and become good friends as we practice living in

Voyagers
Each of us have embarked upon a journey, a voyage through life. We have
already begun though many are not sure where they are going. Voyagers
will be a special help for those of middle school age as we voyage
together. Our vessels will include spaceship earth and it is our job to
explore and care for it as we care for each other. We will be housed in
a replica of another significant vessel,
Noah's
Ark, built specially to support this program. Noah's historic
voyage was a faith journey that we shall also take.
Voyagers will be formed into
crews

Adventure
Trails
There
are many trails we follow through life. This week of camp
will challenge you to think in new ways as you travel new trails,
having a great time along the way! Some of these trails will
be surprises. But we'll give you a couple of hints as to what
to expect. One trail will put you on a horse; another will
lead you through cool darkness underground. Some will soak
your feet and some will bring you back to where you began. These
challenges require an adventurous spirit and a hardy heart.
If it sounds a bit mysterious, it's supposed to! No
one knows exactly where an adventure will lead!
Campers will be transported off of camp
premises to participate is some portions of this program.
Campers will be housed in cabins on Agape Hill. A
liabillity waiver is required for horseback riding..

Joyful Singers

If you want to add an extra dash of joy and spirit to your camp week's
experience and you like to sing, this is the program for you. You have
heard of joyful anthems sung by angels praising God, and so we raise
our voices as well. Our children and youth choirs are great ways to
have fun and also to learn to lead others in worship and into the
presence of God. Every church should have a children or youth choir,
and Joyful Singers is a place where leaders grow. Pick up new songs and
take them back to your church. Learn how you can help build a youth or
children's choir in your own church. But mostly, we have fun with
singing, and all the other great activities in camp. Participants will
be age and skill level grouped for maximum participation. Bring your
special instrument to add to the experience!
