CAMEROON MISSION INITIATIVE CONSULTATION:
Date: Nov. 19, 2010
Time: 12:00 to 5:00pm
Place: Creekwood UMC - Allen, Texas
All are welcome! Come join us for the Cameroon Consultation sponsored by the General Board of Global Ministries on Friday, Nov. 19 at Creekwood UMC in Allen, Texas from noon to 5:00pm. We are excited to announce our guest speaker will be Rev. Nkemba Ndjungu, Mission Superintendent of the Cameroon UMC. Rev. Ndjungu is coming all the way from Africa to give us an end-of-the-year report on the mission including the historic ordination of the first group of UMC pastors this past July. Rev. Patrick Friday, Director of In Mission Together for the General Board of Global Ministries will share about future opportunities to partner with our churches in Cameroon. Other special guests will share about upcoming Volunteer in Mission team trips, support for the eye clinic, development of a micro-credit program, report on the hymnal project and much more. Our host church, Creekwood UMC, is providing a complimentary lunch for all those who are passionate about the mission in Cameroon. You will not want to miss this wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the Cameroon Mission Initiative. Please let us know you’re coming and plan to eat lunch with us by contacting: Jana Carmichael, Creekwood UMC, Director of Missions and Ministry Involvement, email:jcarmichael@creekwoodumc.org, ph: 214-544-8050 - ext. 106. She can also provide you with additional information on local accommodations.
Rev. Ndjungu will be available to visit any partner churches in Texas from Nov.23 to Dec.3. We are seeking families who would agree to host him for a night or two during his stay. This is an ideal time for a prayer group, missions committee, Wednesday night fellowship, UMW group, church council, UMVIM team, etc. to learn more about Cameroon directly from the mission superintendent. We hope you will consider extending an invitation for Rev. Ndjungu to visit your church. Please contact Rev. Patrick Friday by email: pfriday@gbgm–umc.org or ph: 212-870-3860.
