The Hymn - For the Beauty of the Earth

The Call to Worship:
The Lord is king!  Let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him.
God’s lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim God’s righteousness,
and all the peoples behold God’s glory.

The Invocation:
We praise you this morning
as the God who cannot be comprehended by the most brilliant of minds,
who cannot be explained by the most complicated of
mathematical formulas,
who cannot be confined by the limitations of time and space,
who cannot be described by the most insightful of theologians,
yet who is honored by the song of childhood,
“Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”
