WHERE SENIORS ARE SPECIAL TOO!!!

WHERE OLDER ADULTS ARE CALLED INTO MININSTRY TO OLDER ADULTS, CHILDREN AND THE COMMUNITY

We give praise to our God and to our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!

As individual churches and as a charge, we strive to be an earthly reflection of the Kingdom of Heaven.  We wish to show by our presence in the community, both on a personal and congregational level, that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light.  Our witness is shown, in part, by the steadfastness of our presence.

Although our congregations are small, Christ enables us to reach out to others in the community in which we live.  With the help and strength of God through the Holy Spirit, we believe we can make a difference in our community.

We aim to grow in spirit and love by following Jesus Christ as both Savior and Lord.  As we nurture and support each other through trials and works, we can help ourselves to grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ.  We pray that our witness of the Gospel will draw others to Christ.  We trust that God through the Holy Spirit will enable, strengthen, and guide us in our work to spread the Word.

We feel that we have a special calling to Older Adult Ministry.  Statistics have shown that soon the population over 60 years old will increase dramatically.  We want to be there to serve that part of the population as one of our main missions.   At Butler's Chapel ~ Jones Springs Charge we want to be a church where the older adults in our church are challenged to reach out to other older adults and also to children and single parents with Christ's love.  At Butler's Chapel ~ Jones Springs we will recognize that “Seniors are Special too” and have a lot to offer the church and the community. We will provide a place for support groups and special guest speakers who will speak on issues that are important to older adults.   We feel we will also be challenged as an older adult ministry to reach out to youths as mentors and provide assistance to single parents as identified as well as into the community as led by the Holy Spirit.
